Din Tai Fung Now Open in Northern California

NorCal dim sum fans rejoice!

World famous dim sum chain Din Tai Fung will open it’s first Northern California location, and it’s fifth overall in California, at Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose today at 11 AM.

After months of delays, local fans can now enjoy dim sum and other treats from the 60 year old restaurant chain originating from Taiwan. Lines are expected to form daily as both the fans and the curious come to check it the XLB, otherwise known as the Xiao Long Bao and other popular items.

“We anticipate long waits on this day and the days following, so please be advised that we cannot ensure that every guest will be able to be seated,” Ashley Chu, a spokesperson for Din Tai Fung, said Monday. “We will stop taking names on our wait list after the wait exceeds a few hours, and we will begin to take names again once those guests are seated. “We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause.”

A text message system is available for customers who want to shop while they wait for their tables.
