What happens when you get together a Michelin star chef with a famous lifestyle persona whose also the wife of an MVP Basketball player? International Smoke
Ayesha Curry, whose starting a new show on The Food Network, has teamed up with her friend, renowned chef Micheal Mina, to create a new BBQ concept that will open June 4th at Mina’s Test Kitchen in San Francisco. Drawing from his experience in BBQ with his restaurants at Levi’s Stadium, the two have created a menu that, unlike most heavy BBQ food items, will be a bit on the lighter side that is inspired by Curry’s multinational upbringing (Born in Toronto, raised in North Carolina, Curry is part African American, Chinese, Polish and Jamaican).
The four course menu is $45 and is served family style. Additional dishes can be ordered for an additional price. Many of these items will be taken from Curry’s new cookbook The Seasoned Life: Food, Family, Faith, and the Joy of Eating Well, due out in the fall. Diane’s Bloody Mary Brunch will run co-currently with International Smoke, which will run from June 4th all the way to the end of summer. Reservations can be made on Resy.
